Cyprus is a magical island

One of our best summer was in Cyprus. We tried to visited the hole island. We went in Larnaka, in Lefkosia which is the capital of the country, in Pafos and in Lemesos which was our favorite city!

We went in beautiful beaches in Agia Napa and we had a really great time. Of course as food lovers we tried to taste all the tradititional plates. We tasted haloumi,

something like the greek feta, is an internationally recognizable and dear cheese. It is the traditional cheese of Cyprus and is usually eaten roasted, saganaki or even raw in sandwiches. It accompanies extremely local sausages marinated in wine.

Our favorite was "seftalia" that seem at first sight with small kebabs, but the taste is much more - and more delicious - than these! These are small buns of lamb or pork meat (or even a mixture of the two kinds), kneaded with lots of cinnamon, parsley and onion, wrapped in lambs. Don't miss it if you ever visit Cyprus!

Another delicious food was "koupepia" which in Cyprus are the greek "ntolmadakia" with vine leaves. They have the taste of cinnamon and lemon is quite strong. You will find the jars filled with rice or minced meat, ideally from lamb or pork. They are eaten warm or cold and are accompanied by frozen yoghurt, special for the summer!
